About Us/Our Story
Cheryl Valerio-McNevin and Joyce Hunneman are Moms with a passion,
a passion for good manners and good behavior. Cheryl and Joyce are sisters who grew up in a family of six,
where good manners were kindly reinforced. One of their fondest memories is their parents taking all six
children out to eat and having more than one person stop and
compliment their parents on their behavior.
Joyce holds a Bachelor of Science degree from Salem State College,
Massachusetts. She owns
and operates Yellow Brick Road, a successful etiquette
business in the Boston area. In that
capacity, she taught table manners and dining etiquette to children
at their schools. Through her characters Miss Brassy and Miss Classy, Joyce put on
enrichment workshops designed to encourage manners, courtesy, and
respect through innovative games, role-playing, and other fun
activities.
Cheryl has been in sales for over 20 years and has earned an MBA
from Pace University. She believes that good manners and behavior are important
ingredients to life’s successful equation. Cheryl has always focused on
the importance of social networking. From her experience, she believes that people with good
manners and dining etiquette have an advantage in getting ahead in
business. Her
background in business enables her to understand the economic
factors for a successful business.
Cheryl and Joyce often spoke about a way to teach good manners and
behavior in a fun way. After a number of ideas, and with the help of Cheryl’s husband, Dan,
Good Manners for Fun, a board game, was born. As friends and family saw and experienced Good Manners for
Fun, they encouraged Cheryl and Joyce to produce this fun and
wonderful game.
